...but you will positively
never learn
how to fly
if you have
never
fallen and
fallen hard
where you
landed
on your heart
and it kept
beating, anyway
right in front of your eyes
so you and everyone else
knew that it was all you
standing there amid the dust.
Just consider yourself lucky;
because some injuries
are not so easily hidden
under your weekday smile.

I've done quite a bit of falling in my day. good to hear there is an upside to it.
Yes Eric! Still smashing literary home runs out of Poetry Park.
Charles: The Upside to Falling. That might be a good alternate title for this one!
Ultra Toast: Thank you, I hope to continue and keep progressing.
You are amazing... keep them coming...
Amazing is nice.
This poem got much better simply by getting rid of the original top line, and letting it go into the main body first.
Just read the title first. Generally, I recommend reading the title as part of all of the poems.
